Compiling Dictionaries in TEI: Experiences from Working on a Virtual Research Environment2

Le séminaire est ouvert à tous, cependant nous vous demandons de vous inscrire en ligne : http://bit.ly/2gGle3Z.

The Austrian Centre for Digital Humanities of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (ACDH-OeAW) conducts a number of digital humanities projects which pursue research in eLexicography. Besides Standard German and local German vernaculars, there are projects working on Russian and near Eastern languages, in particular the VICAV (Vienna Corpus of Arabic Varieties) and TUNICO (Linguistic Dynamics in the Greater Tunis Area; Austrian Science Fund P25706-G23) projects. Focussing on research-driven experimental tool development, the presentation will deal with relevant interoperability mechanisms such as e.g. encoding standards and language related norms as well as with infrastructure components that were developed in the projects. It will showcase the most recent developments in the technical part of the ACDH’s dictionary infrastructure describing experiments with different technologies to access digital lexical data. Particular attention will be given to the issues of ease of use, reusability and visualisation.
